You know, as you grow in life. You build stuff. Some start off with “Lego’s”, some start off with sticks, some start off with old mattresses in the hood. Everything in life has a “beginning”. The beauty of “most beginnings” is that you don’t know when they are “starting”. You may remember a date you met someone. You may remember the moment you laid eyes on them. You may even remember your first “thought” to an idea.
In the world of business right now. New thing and ideas are “growing” while some are staying the same. One would argue the point that you can make them up as you go. There is no “right way”, but there is “your way”. There are some ways that are more important than others. There are some ways that are more profitable than others. I would say that’s just life and business.
Think about it, about 10 years ago. “Blogging” was someone’s “idea”. Now it is a “profitable” form of business for some and just a hobby for others. That’s life. Example: Back in 2009 a random woman started a “blog”. About 2012, I watched a few “webinars” on how to make blogs grow and what was working. They gave the example of “The Pioneer Woman” . Let me first say, I don’t know this woman at all. But when I tell you she has helped me! This ladies blog is AWESOME! Seriously, her recipes make me look like an “Don Juan” in the Kitchen! Her “Roasted Brussell Sprouts” and “Chocolate Cake” have people dropping money off at my house to cook for them. She did everything right from the START! But what did she do that was “most important”? She was HERSELF! She stayed true to HERSELF! She “Stuck to her Guns!”. (random thought, there is the “hood song” called “IDFWY” by Big Sean, he gives an “inspirational speech” at the end that sticks with me, BUT this song is completely WRONG but so right at the same time.)
She did everything different, created a NEW formula. Then what happened?! The she REALLY WON! How? She has a T.V. Show now…and she knocked Rachel Ray and Paula Dean out the “Branding Box” of Cookware! I KNOW they didn’t see that coming.
“The Pioneer Woman”- built a BRAND! A STRONG BRAND! I don’t know if she “Started from the Bottom” but man, the brand is strong.
We don’t even have TIME to get into “Music Branding”, but we shall definitely re-visit the subject. I could keep going, but I got stuff to do, like build this brand over here.
But right now, this is my “Commitment”. I’m committing to posting “Every Monday!”.
