We all have “childhood influences”. Some of them you realize immediately. Others come into fruition in your mind. This weekend was one of those moments. The interesting thing about these moments is that they shape your “beliefs”. The S.O.S. Band is a band that came out in 77′. I was born in 79′, some of my earliest memories of my “life soundtrack” include their songs.
Wisdom is an amazing gift from God. Even at an early age, I realized the chic had relationship problems and she was going about them the wrong way via her lyrics. But as you listen to their “discography”, she smartens up. Gains some wisdom and seeks greener pastures.
The irony of the music is that business relationships can be the same way. You sign up for the wrong ones that will never be a good fit. You take what they offer, because that is all you know. However, as business and opportunities grow, you realize, you can indeed, do better.
Another Lesson:
This band started in 77′. I saw them for the first time in 2013. They STILL deliver an AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Which is what you pay for when you buy music and concert tickets. You go for an experience. The music is the “product of the experience”. Mary Davis voice is still as crisp and clear as it was 32 years ago! Dead On!
The Band still had style and moves. The most important and key part of this, was as soon as they got started. They gave Thanks, Honor and Glory to God! At the end of the show, they did it again. I can’t help but believe this has influence on how great they are and are still able to be. I have seen many a musician come and go. But when they are sincerely rooted in Christ.
Amazing things can and do happen, like a 32 year Successful Career in Music! One of the hardest industries in the universe.
Moral to the story. Find what you are really great at…and do it WELL FOREVER!
